Compass Calibration
for the complete list of supported compas , please read the magnetometer page
Instalation
Position your magnetometer as far away from power wires as possibel. Try to shield those wires, to minimize the electromagnetic interferences they generate. explain how to position the mag
Calibration
press the mag calibrate in the gui.
for the next 30 sec or so when the led is flashing
rotating the copter around all axes is what you have to do.
- rotate 360 degree around yaw axis for x, y calibration
- rotate 360 degree around pitch axis for y z calibration
- rotate 360 degree around roll for x z calibration
Advanced Calibration
press the mag calibrate in the gui. for the next 30 sec or so when the led is flashing
- point to the north 3d in your zone (for europe point north and down, it is near 45 degree down to earth. Watch your GUI.)
- rotate yaw 360 degree (x,y calibration)
- rotate pitch 360 degree (y z calibration)
- point multicopter west
- roll 360 degree (x z calibration)

Magnetic declination
In order to get accurate data from your magnetometer, you have to set the magnetic declination for your country. Keep in mind, this value may change after a few months from calculation.
