Which pin are you using for the power input to the receiver? There is a regulated 3.3V power supply above the programming pins that might help.

Yep, figured that out literally a minute before your posting. Seems to do the trick.

She flies.. however, after a few seconds, yaw will start either continue rotating (left) or when yawing right, it will pull hard to the back and crash. Up until then it flies stable.

I had the same "motors won't spin" issue and replaced all the FETs with these: http://au.rs-online.com/web/p/mosfet-tr ... s/6106693/
Fiddly work, but motors all spin up perfectly now. Not 100% sure if they're exactly the right ratings for voltage range/etc but will test motors outputs with multimeter soon.

It worked for me and flies OK but it seems to consume a lot of amps. I will setup a test bench to check the exact consumption

Replaced the motors and it seems to fly okay now.

Hi!
I had the same issue...
A quick trick for those unfamilar with smd soldering: Put a big blob of solder
all over the (wrong) mosfet or transistor for removal. This will probably destroy it (we are not going to use it so who cares...).
The big solder blob will heat all pads through the mosfets case and you can swipe it to the side
Then clean the solderpads with solder wick (or take some thick copper wire consisting of very fine single wires).
Finally solder in some irlml2502 (those are cheap on aliexpress).
As i am more used to Openpilot condiguration i ported Openpilot to this nice little board.

Great project! I received a couple boards a while back and am just now getting around to assembling them.
I have some receivers on the way. Trying to resist the temptation to rob one from another quad. Wondering if anyone has managed to connect an nRF24L01 module to the CJMCU as a receiver? I've got a few $3 modules I could use. And I have a Deviation modified Devo 7e transmitter with nRF24L01 module installed.
That would seem like the coolest way to outfit the CJMCU.
Also, the FETs on my boards say: "G2N4A" on them and not much else. Are these okay, or should I order replacements?
Also 2, has anyone gotten the compass chip to work usefully? Would mounting it on a one-inch or two-inch tall plastic standoff be sufficient to get it above the motor's magnetic fields?

I just added nrf24l01 support (only with WLToys V202 ptotocol for now), it should make its way into trunk soon.

Note that on Rev1 board SPI1 connector is rotated 180° compared to the v2, not very convenient:
