hi,
1.7 no gui with toshiba bt activated on winxp. BT Adapter deactivated 1.7 gui starts slow after waiting a few seconds. with fdti adapter gui is starting.
1.8 no gui at all, several virtual comports deinstalled, or deacticated. sparkfunf tdi only, no gui.
win7
1.8 gui starts, when acer bt adapter is not connected via usb.?? Portprobe, ??
my other devices using the bt-com port adapters are working, like the Armocopter-board. tested, running. this was not the problem.
java running at newest version 29. deinstalled all older versions. tested, running. was not the problem.
i think the problem is the porthandling from the system, or at the startup routine from mwc.
What can i do now?
gruss

Re: no Gui with active BT Adapters toshiba xp and acer win7
Hello suarez,
Problem Windows 32
With a Bluetooth dongle inserted the Arduino IDE and the Config Program has a major start delay, and problems finding the serial ports.
A solution was worked out by "eried" in the Arduino forum: Road to solve the delay on the Arduino IDE

You have to replace the file rxtxserial.dll in the Arduino folder. This file can be downloaded from the given web address (version from 2009-03-17).
I hope this helps, for more details have a look at:

You also need to replace the rxtxserial.dll file in the Multiwiidev filder to.

THAAAAANKS!
Sorry for screaming, but with this mods it´s also possible to connect via BT with NON toshiba drivers! I had the problem that both, my T61 and Samsung Netbook under XP pro/Win7 starter didn´t like the Toshiba drivers. I just did a quick check on the T61 and now the BT port from the intel driver is enlisted as a comport in the GUI, led on BT module becomes solid/restarts blinking when I start/stop readout in the GUI and I see "MMMMMM....." with 115kBaud on the other side of the wireless link .
YMMD!
Good night,

+1. My Win7 PC doesn't use Bluetooth but I've been using this mod with V1.8 and it works very well. The GUI loads much faster and the intermittent GUI lockups are gone with it. The V1.9 release has a different rxtxserial than the V1.8 distribution, but it is just as fussy as the old one. Fortunately the patched rxtxserial discussed here helps V1.9 too. Highly recommended even if the Arduino connection is a USB cable.
Re: no Gui with active BT Adapters toshiba xp and acer win7
I've also replaced this file.
With my old XP Laptop Gui starts the bluetooth connection in 10 seconds.
Much better than the one at default in V1.9, takes around 30 seconds or more.
