multiwii se v2 wont go

Hi guys I am totally new to this ive just finished building my quadcopter from a parts kit it has a multiwii se v2 control board ,,when I connect battery I was told to pull throttle down to bottom right corner to arm unit,,i do not get anything except red and green lights,,when armed the blue should be on
I have not connected any computer program to it
I am using a 36 meg mode 1 radio set
any guidance
help
