When I slowly throttle up, the motor speed doesn't change until about 25% then it suddenly 'pops' up to a much higher rev. It's still below take-off speed so it doesn't give me any real problems and from then on up the response seems smooth.
But I also said that sometimes that behaviour goes away.
Well today I found that if I try to trim my roll/pitch and start my motors afterwards then the throttle responds smoothly from idle up to take-off speed without any jumping.
I've calibrated my ESCs many times so I doubt that's the cause. It's odd and I'm a little worried that this is one of the reasons why I'm having terrible control issues.
I applied the 42Hz filter today and 'think' it's a little better but that's another thread.

I should have a lot more opportunity to fly now that my garden isn't a building site!!
