Motors 'popping' up - a clue.

Post by Andy7 »

I've posted a few times about an odd behaviour that I'm having with my Quad since MW2.2. Nobody seems to have much to offer on this problem and I'm thinking that it might just be me. I have a bit more information now if anyone has any idea as to what's causing it.

When I slowly throttle up, the motor speed doesn't change until about 25% then it suddenly 'pops' up to a much higher rev. It's still below take-off speed so it doesn't give me any real problems and from then on up the response seems smooth.
But I also said that sometimes that behaviour goes away.

Well today I found that if I try to trim my roll/pitch and start my motors afterwards then the throttle responds smoothly from idle up to take-off speed without any jumping.
I've calibrated my ESCs many times so I doubt that's the cause. It's odd and I'm a little worried that this is one of the reasons why I'm having terrible control issues.

I applied the 42Hz filter today and 'think' it's a little better but that's another thread.

:?

I should have a lot more opportunity to fly now that my garden isn't a building site!! ;)

What about settings minthrottle, maxthrottle and mincommand?

I have a similar issue since i applied the new dev, when i put the yaw stick in position to arm or disarm, my throttle spikes up until i move stick back to center.
i can watch the stick inputs on GUI and they dont increase, but i can repeat the effect even while the motors are already armed by pushing yaw all the way into arm position at min throttle.
