After several unsuccessful test flights with my new Multiwii quad with CRIUS AIO v1 I am looking for help to understand how things work.
We are a couple of friends that have been trying to search the web for information on what the Multiwii functions do. But it seems quite impossible to find.
ACC: I think its: Attitude hold/6ch gyro mode/etc. Eleron/Elevator sticks only controls angle of copter and there is a max angle It seems to do: What I thought it would do Seems to only work once a massive amount of throttle is applied. I would like to know: Is there a max angle? Or will it flip at some point? How much throttle is actually needed for ACC to kick in?
BARO: I think it is supposed to be: Altitude hold Keep current height/altitude It seems to do: Nothing at all. After loosing transmitter connection and going on BARO mode copter flew so high I could barely see it until running out of battery. (Throttle stick was locked at 100% too) I would like to know: Does it work? Does throttle stick have an effect while enabled? If throttle stick has an effect then how can it hold altitude?
MAG: I think its supposed to be: Heading hold Keep current heading. Though still changeable with rudder stick. Not testet
GPS HOME: I think it is: Some unfinished return to home function. Seems to do: Can't really get this to do anything. Haven't done testing from more than 20m away from start though. I would like to know: What does it do? How to use it. Does any sticks have any effect while enabled? Tips and tricks Does any other function have any effect while active?
GPS HOLD: I think it is: GPS position hold Stay on current position. What it seems to do: Seems to TRY to stay within 15m of location however elevator and aileron sticks still seem to work. Very unimpressive compared to DJI Naza GPS Position Hold. I would like to know: Is there any way to improve this to be precise enough for aerial filming purpose? Does it fully use accelerometers to ajust for smaller movements?
HEADFREE: I think it is; Intelligent Orientation Control/Carefree Always act as if nose of copter is pointing away from home position Not tested.
Any assistance you can give would be greatly appreciated.
What needs to happen is we write down what we have just learnt and give it to the guys to update the wiki. I utterly hate forums as a point of disseminating information, they suck at it. But at times like this when coders would rather be coding and users using, they have a place. But (again) the information from them needs to be lifted and wiki-ed. Nobody likes documenting, but I'll have a go at the mode table if it's deemed necessary by the guys ? They can always put it right

yeah, that is the wiki way. I saw you gathering information in that other thread as well. Once you have it down, please contact Alex or me for write access to the wiki so you can update/add to it.
Thank you very much ! Will do it this weekend probably, weather here is rubbish so no flying. You will be relieved to know I have previous Goggle code wiki experience
