Dev Conf Program not working under XP?
Dev Conf Program not working under XP?
I have two machines I'm currently using, one a Windows 7 Pro (64bit), the other Windows XP Pro (32bit). The exact same copy of the MultiWiiConf Dev 32 bit version (as in, same removable drive) runs perfectly on the W7 machine, but on the XP machine the upper right box with the channels does not show at all, it's just a black box. It works up to the 2.0 version, but neither the June 6 or the June 22nd dev versions work on XP. Is anyone else having this issue? Both machines have the same version of Java (Version 7 Update 5) installed and both are up to date on all MS patches.

Note: I can't get the 64bit version to run at all on W7(64). No errors, it just won't start.

Re: Dev Conf Program not working under XP?
I have the same problem on my Vista 64 bit machine it just dos not run, it might down to the graphics card as its an onboard one that has very limited settings even the 32 bit versions give me grief by dropping down to a grey box or just closing completely.
I can run all V's and Dev's on my XP laptop no problem at all except the 64 bit versions of course. Would like to be able to sort this as its getting annoying when trying to set things up on my PC.

Re: Dev Conf Program not working under XP?
I personally have a 32bit windows XP, and the latest GUI works fine.
It is also the smoothest that was released.
processing&java things seem to have some oddities on some setups.

can you try with the demo from : http://goworldwind.org/demos/
if they do not work , you have a 3d incompatibilities

Re: Dev Conf Program not working under XP?
Dropping the Hardware Acceleration to one notch up from off (to Basic only) gets the conf program working, but I don't consider this an acceptable solution. It works with full acceleration in the 2.0 code. That tells me somebody changed something they shouldn't have in the Dev releases. Anyone know who's been working with the video code?

Check out the new Java MwGUI in another thread here, its quite good and should get you by.
Progress is rapid and I have no problems running it.

They work just fine, thank you. The dev version of the conf program still does not. When something stops working on a dev version of a program and nothing has changed on the machine, it's a pretty fair bet that a change in the program is at fault. No need to be rude.

Re: Dev Conf Program not working under XP?
Hi all,
I come back, I tried to run the last MultiwiiConf_dev20120622, with no success.
The program starts but the AUX check boxes don't appear on the screen.
I'm running Java JDK_1.7.4 on my 3 PC's under WIN XP and I have always the same issue on all them.
The Conf's (1.7 -> 20120522) are running well excpet for this latest dev.
So is this Java version OK, and otherwise is there a particuliary way to install it (swing?) ?
I tried all the suggestions emitted in this thread without any success.
I mean that not all users of MWii are fitted with the last outcoming PCs and not all are software developpers.
I think that must be changed in the next DEV.
Best regards
Claude

Re: Dev Conf Program not working under XP?
Hi,
I tried to compile MWConf_20120622.pde with Processing 1.5.1 and I got an issue, see the Zip file.
Can this been the strange behaviour of that dev.

Re: Dev Conf Program not working under XP?
Hi,
I updated controlP5 (last version).
It compiles now without any issue, but the checkboxes for AUX doesn't appear on the screen.
I have no solution for the moment for running this dev with Win XP.
