Help with Uno R3

Post by DrJinglesPsyD »

I have an Arduino Uno r3 board and for the life of me can't get the WM+ to work. I have followed all the guides i can find and its really starting to get annoying. It even appears that some of the guides conflict with each other which has gotten really confusing. Im using multiwii preversion 2 because according to one of the guides its the only one that works with Arduino 1.0 which i am also using. everything uploads and compiles fine but nothing happens on the gui and in fact the WM+ board heats up. Is there some simple straight forward guide on getting this thing connected or am i missing some vital obvious step (it wouldnt be the first time). Im considering just shelling out the cash for proper stabilization set up, but i would really rather get this cheap method working. It would seem that i am using some cheap China model WM+ but the board looks pretty much the same. Any help or anything really is appreciated.

Heres a picture. Its not perfect, ill need to know what exactly you are looking for to get a better one or something. Is there something specific i need to check for which pins to use? I basically copied the pictures from the 'connecting elements' page.

So you see, same is most often not the same ;)

That just turned my mood straight around :D You are epic. Looks like my terrible soldering skills are going to be put to the test for those two connections on the right. Just to make sure before i jack up the board, does 'cut' work as simply as it sounds? I planned to just take my knife and slice at it until it looks unconnected. Also, if you have any tips on how to get those tiny little buggers soldered it would be greatly appreciated! :D Thanks SO much for the help!

Have a magnifying glass at hand.

Good equipment always counts. I invested in a new small Weller soldering station with a fine tip.

I cut the two lines not with a knife (could slip ...), but with my Dremel and a very fine tip.

Glad, I could help .... ;)
