The green light does stop flashing when I level it out! So, that's a sign that SOMETHING is working.. I tried 3 USB cables, directly connected (no USB hub) and rebooted...the computer never sees anything plugged in. I can't flash it with Baseflight firmware flasher, it's not connecting to the board...

OK, got an ST-Link V2 from digikey and got everything working. The problem I have now is that Baseflight Configurator gives an error about needing a newer firmware, 3-2.1 .... Works fine with Multiwii WinGUI 2.2 though so at least I'm flying Is there an updated firmware I haven't been able to find ...

i assume your are using a 328p . shorst answer ->Your best option is to get a controller with an Atmega 2560, that one got 4 serial ports OR to get a i2c adapater. setting up a gps with a 328p is way harder and prone to failure than using a Atmega 2560 or a stm32 flight controler m all those point a...
