Shops in the US

Post by DrJinglesPsyD »

Just got into the robotics market and so far it has been totally epic. Ive managed to gather what seems to be enough parts for a basic copter, but im having trouble finding most things. Does anyone know a shop (Brick and mortar may be hard to ask for, i know there is almost none in my area) that sells parts at a low price and has good shipping options. Im west coast US and so far ive been gathering parts from local Radio Shacks (that are way overpriced, but handy for emergency parts) and one small local electronics shop that has a good deal of parts but none of the robot specialty parts like microcontrollers or DC motors (brushless or geared). Ive also been gathering parts on Amazon which has gotten me the parts i have so far, but runs out fast the more specific you get to robotics. Ive looked around and found RobotShop, Lets Make Robots, and some of the heli based sites but i want to see what the community here has to say about sites and pricing as well as customer support. I figure the guys repurposing cheap Wii remotes are the right guys to ask about cheap parts :)

Thanks in advance!
