Snowball one up in the air :)

Post by Loosi »

Heyho!

Last week i got some time to bring "Snowball ONE" up in the air.

Hardware:
  • Board: Paris Aerial Photo V4.0 Board
  • CPU: Arduino PRO Mini
  • Gyro: Wii Motion Plus
  • ACC: BMA020 (not used)
  • Frame: Warthox Quadrocopter Frame (10mmx10mm ALU)
  • Motors: CF2822
  • ESCs: 25-30A HK ESC
  • Props: 10x6
  • 45cm Achsabstand

Software:
  • MultiWii Version 2 pre 4

PIDs are standard. Will figure it out if i have more time :)

    Videos:
    1st http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vM-mLdC6s_s
    2nd http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUVIngkrM_4
3rd http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9W5m17yiXc4 (stable mode till 0:30, but the pids are not ok, will change it if i have more time :) )

Cause it´s some time ago, i changed some parts from my hexacopter to Snowball ONE:
    • Allinone IMU from CSG_EU (much better than wmp+bma020, baro and compass is working great with 2.0pre4!)
    • Selfmade I2C GPS Board
    • 8045 Props
    • Ordered 4 other Motors: KEDA 20-28M , hope they arrive this week :)

Pictures and Videos with the new Setup will follow :)

    Greetings from Germany
    Daniel

I see you have the same problem as me mounting what I assume is the video TX?
I bought a short 6" extension cable for the antenna with one end that mounts onto the top plate of the quad. The antenna is now more central, far away from the props and completely solidly mounted.
The actual TX unit can now be mounted much more sensibly without the requirement of the antenna poking out from one end at a certain angle.
