MultiWii HexaCopter X-setup

The idea originated from William's MM6 but in the end we completely redesigned the frame.

Designed for FPV, the 2 front motor's are placed away to achieve a bigger camera viewing angle.
There is place to mount 2 standard 45x45 boards after each other. (MK, KK-boards, etc. )

A first test flight was done in extreme windy situations, the hexa flew remarkable well. (Software v1.7 pre)

Really nice work Kuki, thanks a lot for this board!

Very nice, can you tell more about the props, are they good quality, are they balanced?

Hi Berkely,

It's a really nice build.
I think it deserves a real HEX6 X implementation :P

Very nice! Really like the board, the one I've been waiting for, all-in-one & PnP :)

I use them on my tricopter as well, they are out of the box usable but I balanced them anyway, not 100% but just to get the most out of it.

I think however I'm going to try with 3blade 7x3.5 props as they may produce a bit more lift. I'll post it later if it's better.

Regards
B.

Thanks Alex,

It would be nice to implement the HEX6 X model. It works like you suggested but also during the trimming in stable mode, one has to be alert not to apply the trim to the wrong channel :D

I have to admit, I was really amused with the board, pre-loaded worked like a charm. I've upgraded to ver 1.7Pre like one normally upgrades the board with the standard FTDI cable.

Kuki suggested to mount an itg3205 gyro together with the bma180 ACC & it sure looks like a good combination. (the ITG3205 is not specified but one can select the ITG3200 in the MultiWii software)
