MultiWiiConfig with just sensors? [NEWBIE]

Hi folks,

/* newbie alert */

I have MultiWii loaded onto my Arduino Micro, and it connected up to a GY_87 10DOF sensor (via I2C).
That seems to be working, I can see the values change in the UI as I move the sensor around - however, I don't see the horizon move or the pitch/yaw

My question is - should I ? or do I have to have the motors etc all wired up as well to get anything useful out of MultiWiiConfig ?

Thanks .. KJ

The horizon requires an accelerometer sensor. Does the GY_87 have an accelerometer and a gryo?
Does the sensor graph show accelerometer data?
Did you click the Cal ACC button?

Motors are not needed and should not be connected until the sensors are working correctly.

Thanks for your response...

Yes GY_87 has ACC/GYRO/BARA - yes I'm seeing the values in the graph.
Hadn't done the calibration - will try that next...

Should I be holding it still for a bit to test - then moving around ?
Not sure of the best way to prove it's working correctly...

.. Thanks

Must be level, use a bubble level on the arms, the do ACC CAL.
Then when you tilt the copter the pitch and roll graphics will show the directions of tilt.

Got it all working now - thanks.
Amazing what you learn when you RTFM... :-/

Now just waiting on my motors and ESCs :-)
