Strange MultiWiiConf Behaviour

Post by cjd000 »

Hi Guy's

Hoping somebody can help me out here. I'm trying to use the MultiWiiConf programme to setup my tricopter. both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions are giving me greif!

When i open the software its as though the font is all screwed up and i cant read the display. I can see the programme is working as i can click on things and get a response - just cant see what i'm clicking on!

The image attached should explain the problem

I've tried Java v7 & v8, and both 32 and 64 bit versions (i have 64 bit windows 7 installed). Please can you help, i have no knowledge of Java programming.

Thanks,
Chris

The GUI will jump to life when serial data from your mwii control are received. You have to press the suitable com port and the com driver must be installed ....

Thanks but because i can't read anything on the screen can't see how to press the suitable com port!

This is a little unusual, i would not expect the font problem to go away once the com port is active? I have the Multiwii board plugged in and can use other programmes with it such as the simpleGUI

It seems like a font problem but you surely must have Arial bold in your computer!?...
Arial is the only Font used in MWiiConfig.

Try to uninstall all Java versions and reinstall Java
http://www.java.com/en/
I use Java 7u51 in my computers.

Use the 32bit version of MWiiConfig.

Definitely banging my head against a wall with this one! I've so far tried...

Uninstall Java, re-install version 7u51
Run the Multiwii 2.2 version as well as 2.3, both in 32 bit and 64 bit
Run as Admin, XP compatibility mode, disabled the windows 7 aero jaz
changed screen res, colours (16 bit and 32 bit), cleartype on/off, different font sizes
checked my fonts to ensure nothing is wrong

The nearest i got was was selecting the 'run in 256 colours mode', i could see text but the rest of the screen was a mess!

Please help, i have my Tricopter all setup ready to go!!!!

Thanks,
Chris
