MultiWii and FRSKY D8r-II glitches

Post by UndCon »

Watch this video when I record GUI

EDIT: finally the video is uploaded

This is only present with this receiver - If I use the Spektrum instead of the ER9X /FRSKY radio this Tricopter it flies great.

Hey,
Is it possible that your expo on transmitter is set to high? As it seems to happen if you get to the limits below 1000 at pitch. In levelmode it keeps at 998 min, at acro it drops around 980. May this be your problem? Maybe some strange tranmitter mixing?

btw. got no problems using Frkskymod and MX-16

HI - thanks for your tips - I will look into the Tricopter-programming on ER9X a bit deeper but I copied the existing programming from my Quadcopter that works just fine so I assumed it should be no crazy mixing involved (there is none for the Quad)

if I try the programming in ER9X simulator I see nothing like theese jumps, also there is nothing existing like that on the LCD on the radio when I swap to that view. It could be another issue with bad EEPROM values again (if so it is the 3rd time this happens to me)

Hey,
i don´t know too much about ppm calculations, but i got something in mind that your control movements on pitch (and all other axis) should keep within 1000-2000. Maybe <990 will mess up the PPM sum signal. Ithink its possible that travel ways do differ from your other transmitter module. Just guessing, hope it helps :)

btw. its kinda strange that switching level switch influences the travel ways of transmitter

On the Quad I have a D4FR in PPM mode so it could be something with the "regular" signal
On the Tricopter I do not use PPM as I have not yet upgraded the firmware to enable PPM
I have to look closer at the programming when I get home (like in 2 hours)

I think I found a cause

The radio was set at 32,5mSec on PPM signal (don't know why)

All other programs I have is set to 22,5mSec

After dropping from 32,5mSec to 22,5mSec the glitches disappeared and everything works as intended

So what are you using?

Radio = Turnigy 9X with EEPE and Fr-Sky

Receivers
D8R-II in regular mode (not flashed for PPM)
D4FR in PPM mode (is currently set at 32,5mSec and it works just fine)

This is still not solved - the issue appears on both my receivers and I changed to 22,5ms - nothing helps

EDIT: I changed to 18ms according to this page
