Windows 7 64 bit. Newest Java & FTDI drivers. 1.xx6 & earlier GUIs all load with no issues. Any of the 1.xx7 will open a window with a title and just stop. Nothing in the window. Leave for 5 mins. Same thing.
I have XP running in virtual mode and it fires up 1.xx7 with no issues.
Did a search and didn't turn up anything.
I can get around it but would like to know what the problem is.
Ideas or suggestions?
Bill
V1.xxx7 GUI display problem
Re: V1.xxx7 GUI display problem
Hi,
The problem could be due com port enumeration. For example, if you have BT devices paired, it would try to connect each of them..
On my notebook I have to switch of BT before using configurator. Another problem could be phone management software, like Sony Erricson mRouter, which tries to open every COM port in the system.

Re: V1.xxx7 GUI display problem
But this only happens for 1.xxx7. I can move the mouse over, click on 1.xxx6 or lower and it works without any issues. If there was a conflict with drivers, what changed in 1.xxx7 to trigger the problem? And why W7?
No Bluetooth devices. This is not a notebook.

Re: V1.xxx7 GUI display problem
same setup W7 64bit. i can get maybe 10-15sec before the window closes by its self
Re: V1.xxx7 GUI display problem
I have the same problem, 1.6 works but shows some wrong info but thats probaly due to runing 1.7 firmware. When using 1.7 GUI on a Duemilanove you can see the RX/TX flashing when you start/stop comms but no info displayed.
Re: V1.xxx7 GUI display problem
possible cause is the use of OpenGL for the animated copter in the gui.
You may try to get the Processing application and run the gui code form there in full screen mode. Strange? Well, works for me.

Re: V1.xxx7 GUI display problem
I get the exact same problem as mac...
Tried 1.7 and trunk, sometimes the program starts, sometimes it doesn't
Sometimes I can establish a connection, sometimes only Rx blinks on the Duemi, and sometimes it just doesn't connect...
Any help would be appriciated...

Re: V1.xxx7 GUI display problem
Just replaced (uninstalled) JDK 6 with JDK 7...
Now I get an error "can't find javaw.exe" when trying to run a compiled standalone version of MWConf (tried 32 and 64 bit)...
Running through Processing works though, and javaw.exe does exist (i.e. it can be manually executed from a command-prompt)...
*sigh*
