New flying android app : Flone Remote
New flying android app : Flone Remote
Hi all,
We are developping Flone: a Multiwii-based open source platform for flying smartphones.
We develop the frame in laser cutted wood, for easy repairing and a Android app for easily fly.
There are some nice apps for comunicate to Multiwii like ez-gui, but we think that they reproduce the old way to control multi-rotors with potentiometer-sticks in a multi-touch device and the flying experience is not so natural.
So we re-design the way of control multirotors in a natural way: the multirotor just follow the pitch and roll of the smartphone, and throttle is controlled with one finger.
For do this we port the MultiwiiConf in Processing to Android.
We already test the app in some flying workshops. Beginners start flying in a acceptable way with our app, but with a standard radio gear they normally crash if they don't have previous experience..
Flone uses a Multiwii board, so all multiwii users can also fly with our app, the only requisite is that they need to configure their boards in the same way:
Channel 5 Low: Disarm
Channel 5 High: Arm
Channel 6 Low: Level
Channel 6 Medium: Baro
Channel 6 Medium: Loiter (not implemented yet)
The way of take off is up the throttle with one finger, if you release the finger multirotor go to baro flight mode, if you touch the screen again multirotor go to level mode.
You can see in action in this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pINYe4q4Z8
I hope that you like our vision and you test our app with your multiwiis, please contact us with any comment or suggestion that you have, and remember that all is released as open source, so we can not be responsable of any damage, usually standard Bluetooth have around 50 meters range. We are flying sucessfully last 3 months without any problem.
Finally, you can install the app here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... loneremote
For safety reasons in this version the yaw is fixed to mid value (1500), we plan to make more tests and release a new version than yaw movement of the copter follows also yaw movement of the smartphone.
Regards,
Lot Amorós

Nice idea, I guess.
Guess, because the first image shows a flying smartphone, while the rest describes a Smartphone controlled MultiWii.

How did you make the connections from the smartphone to the quadcopter?
Thank you and Kudos on your accomplishment.
Re: New flying android app : Flone Remote
Now It's by bluetooth, but potentially we can use any serial data link.

Yeah, it took some serious effort to try and read the labels on the 1st post picture. Ugh.
Re: New flying android app : Flone Remote
hello,i connect this app with my mwc qudrotor via bluetooth, and i have configure the board, why can't i disarm the quadrotor? thx
Re: New flying android app : Flone Remote
Hi mearshen,
You should be able to disarm the quadrotor with the button arm / disarm. (you should configure arming with channel 5)
Be sure that you down the throttle before disarming. (This is related to multiwii not to my app).
Hope that will work for you.

Please correct your stolen files or remove all the commment that you do not own.
I considere your action a grave offense, failure to respect the gpl is a nogo.
you have now been informed.
side note : do not even consider arguing , your are dealing with a no life.

Hi treym,
As you see, I already included references to MultiwiiConf source and included the gpl in the readme of the project.
It was already mentioned also in some source files.
For the font and everything else, as a creator of the software I'm free to do everything that i want.
But don't worry in a next version I will use a different typeface.
