Because there'd be too much shit to #ifdef on a tarduino pro mini.
And the second reason is that qgroundcontrol is fucking HIDEOUS.
Worse than multwiiconf, by far.

Thank you, there are a number of groundcontrols from what I can tell. Of course, I have not tried any, just reading over the documentation.

I also believe that Alex said it should be lightweight(er) than MavLink (less traffic less processing).

I am convinced of Multiwii, but I have recently MAVLINK geladen.es works far better than Multiwii. I am amazed.
