MultiWii

Hi all,

After all these years to share together this joint project, I wondered if among us there'll designers who would like to offer a little of their time to participate in the creation of a MultiWii logo. It would be very positive for the community.

Ideally, each person wishing to participate must conduct its graphics project individually afford to not be influenced and deliver maximum choice.

We must define an deadline date.

Your thoughts ?

Do you think that fixing the deadline date for the end of February would be sufficient ?
The important thing is to be wide enough, to allow those who have not yet seen the Callenge and would like to participate.

I hope big boys of multiwii is ok with the idea and make the winner logo official if they like it…
Who will be the chooser? Main programmers or a poll?

I think it's a good idea to formalize a logo.
End of february seems to be fine for a first list.
I suggest to open a poll after this period

I'm aware of 2 logos for the moment: (see attachments)
1) the one made by a tricopter father (one of the pioneer)

About license: I understand it can be important to protect the creation and the way we can use it
But, if we talk about CC licence:
- the logo must be allowed to be applied everywhere, even on commercial products (NC is no way)
- BY-SA-ND options are up to you

Lets see if we can top these two then..

My feedback to designers who join this contest.
I'm not a professional designer but would still like to share my idea

The logo should be very recognizable at all sizes.
Take the android logo (or arduino logo or ...) as a good example. This kind of logo can be used everywere at all sizes (as a large logo on a website or a tiny logo printed on a pcb board).

I would start from a small square flat logo.
If needed this small square flat logo can always
- made larger
- given a other shape
- made more fancy or 3D
in a easy and quick way without losing the recognizablility.

I prefer to wait until the deadline for
a) avoiding influencing other designs
b) maybe come up with better ones
c) thats what we graphic designers do.. Make people wait for no solid reason
