Add info on new dev release...
Re: Add info on new dev release...
You can read the comments for svn submits under changes to get an idea.
Re: Add info on new dev release...
hi hamburger
yes thats right!
but it is a very short information for possible big changes.
for me as a non-developer (but curious test-flyer) it is sometimes hard to find an explanation for new functions.
in the past there where changes.txt files.
for a tester with no 100% knowledge of each code-line it is not easy to find out how the new funktions work an how to configure them.
+1 for add more detailed info on new devs !!

Hi!
IMHO DEV version are for developers who know what they are doing to test their current development in the context of all commits since the last release.
These versions are untested and if you crash your MWC you can not blame anyone.
The releases are tested (with the DEV versions) and are a bit saver to fly and are coming with a change-log.
As always with open-source: If you miss something - do it yourself.
Just my 2 cents.
Greeting
Thorsten

Re: Add info on new dev release...
sorry that I did not belong to this closed circle of developers who know what they are doing to test their current development!
wow. I did not know that until you just posted it

you are right.
in real world, it is a trade off between features added and features documented. General rule is developers are not too keen on writing documentation.
Re: Add info on new dev release...
hi
I think no one here calls for detailed documentation.
all we need are a few more descriptions or explanations about the new features. No essay or something.
and that only for the developer versions!
greetings michael

Michael,
one thing I forgot - we have a thread 'wishlist' here. In post #2 I keep an updated list of features status. Maybe that helps some more.
