Using I2C even further, it could be possible to connect an OSD (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost ... ount=10112) witch can receive directly the Euler angles from MultiWii board a few times per second.
Even more, the GPS coordinates could be read by Multiwii board through the same I2C bus and if the speed of core Atmel 328 is a problem, the OSD Atmega could calculate the stick corrections by himself.

The I2C bus is already booked with the sensors;)
There is no time slot for other non essential parts, otherwise the time loop would continue to grow.
For this, the serial port is a good option.
