hey,
also worked for me, just didnt upload it right now.
Are you using Arduino 022, 023 or 1.0?

edit:
uploaded and done some offair testings, and a short air test (of course it started to snow as i went out) but for now i would say it performs really good. Nice smooth return to level with standart settings (PID), for now no overshoots but gentle wobbles if hit by a windgust (not very disturbing, seems smoother than normal 1.9 release). I will do further testings, as soon as possible and provide more detailed feedback and maybe some captures.

I have 022 and 1.0, will try on a different computer.

Hey, shikra!
I do not know exactly what you did, but however my quad is behaving very close to perfect with your new release!
Descending down very gently, nearly no wobbles. Stable in groundeffect. And its quite easy to fly now! I will post some video footage using this mod!
Btw. i did no PID tuning. Just standart PID :D
Althold did not work as it should, constantly overshooting.
During flight i had some very strange YAW behaviour, as my HMC5883 was not calibrated correct.(Doing uncontrolled fast YAW)
I will redance the calibration for mag and watch if i may reproduce it. Should not be depending to the area i flew at, as its my testing field (did already lots of flights there) ;)

Thank you for sharing this!

edit:
here is some footage! I did not spend too much time for cutting, but i think its ok for testing footage ;)
http://www.quadrocopter.at/vids/1.9-shikralevel.mp4 (one prop was horribly unbalanced, captures would be unusable without anti-vib mount)
If playback jitters, please download the footage to view it.

Hey,
I recalibrated MAG and have done around 5 successfull flights for now.
Its definatly worth giving a try!

btw. cycle time around 3500-4800ms using BMA180/IDG600/HMC5883/BMP085@100khz

THANK YOU Shikra!!!!

STABLE MODE is no longer Unstable mode!
After loading your level-lock version of 1.9, I was able to take off and fly in the Stable mode.
I flew with your default PID settings... so it has potential of being even better when tuned to my homemade quad-x frame.

This is the first time that I was ever able to stay aloft in the stable/level mode!

Thanks again for your good work. I hope that Alex adopts your revisions.

Sorry for delay - been working away this week.
All feedback wanted - good or bad. I only listen to good though ;)

If its helped at least a couple of you, thats great!! Really happy.
It can still be rubbish if you don't get the settings right though. Need to play a little sometimes.
And not everyone needs it. Level mode is great for some now. Same for Alt hold - I seem to be lucky - it works real well for me now, but looking forward to whats coming

Sneak preview - just uploaded a cut of one of my latest videos. I never run dev code on this one - it's too expensive to risk!! All flown FPV level mode though - have the PI low to get a bit smoother vid, but it does make it a little imprecise to fly sometimes so I had to cut a few of the scenes I wanted.

Skenfrith castle on here....

Think what we might have in maybe another 6 months of dev work by the guys - awesome multiwii with RTH/position hold/better alt hold and lots of extras!

If your copter has unbalanced props, your antivibe mount is doing well! Seriously

Thought the music was pretty good - reminded me of I think it was Bomb the Bass tune for Xenon2.
Great free retro PC game you can download BTW. So good they rebuilt it for more modern gear.

hey,
yes, the anti-vib mount performs really nice. Could not believe myself before i tested it.
I will add some footage with balanced props shortly. Will try to do some FPV flight using your mod. (Safe area of course)

Xenon 2 was one of my first pc games and i loved it! Maybe thats why it sounds a bit like Bomb :D

Hey,
i did encounter some error while flying fpv.
Adding some additional asymetric weight, seemed to lead to the problem (fpv transmitter+osd).

For analysis -> http://www.quadrocopter.at/vids/fpv-shikra-lvl-fail.mp4 holy tree batman!

Around 4 Minutes inflight it started pitching forward/left very hard only stick pulled to full backwards/right could save it, did continue the flight in acro and no problem seemed to be present. (except the usual drift)

This problem may be depended to my copter, but please be carfefull at testing ;)

btw. balanced props ;)
I will test with some other releases, to check if this problem is present.

update: I tested the new svn release today, and was not able to reproduce that failure. If i will get similar results i will post here.

Maybe my WMP+ was the problem -> http://www.multiwii.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=671&start=70#p11157
