MULTIWII PRO EZ3.0 BLACKED MAG reversed ???

Post by howardthecow »

MULTIWII PRO EZ3.0 BLACKED MAG EDITON using:
MINI UBLOX M8N GPS GLONASS W/ (35X35MM) MOUNTING BACKPLANE AND COMPASS V2

Problem I am having is compass reads out reversed i.e.
north is north and south is south
but if you turn east it reads out west / turn west compass points east?????? in Mutiwii Conf

Have done several Mag cals
all the best
JDH
Any ideas

I had problems with my Blacked mag too. I ended up just enabling the sensors independently and re doing their orientation in config.h and now it's fine. I just left the combined IMU boards all commented, uncommented the sensors the FC uses, then I set up the enforce your individual sensor options so everything was working ok in the gui. Below is the config.h setup the way it works for mine.

Code: Select all

I know, RTFQ says to enable this option (//#define FREEIMUv043 // same as FREEIMUv04 with final MPU6050 (with the right ACC scale)and it should be good to go. I found out it just doesn't work.
Flies really nice now that I enforced everything manually.

I thought glonass was the russian version of GPS. Is that correct?
BTW, you might have to mess with the force settings some. The directional info might only work with mine for all I know. If it acts poorly while taking off I would re-set things in the force orientation until everything moves correctly in the GUI.
Better yet, maybe you should check all the directionally related stuff in the GUI BEFORE you try to fly.
