Telemetry Question

Hi, I'm building a 450 class quad and am using the Multiwii Pro EZ3 FC board. I'm puzzled about how to hook up the telemetry. The board has a telemetry out port. Can I just connect this to any receiver directly or do I have to go through a telemetry unit like the lemon rc? I'm using a DEVO 10 tx and the 1002 rx that it came with.
