NAZE 32 Beginner settings

Post by twidget »

I am new to quad copters and got my new system up and flying today.

After slowly tooling around the yard for a while I have come to the realization that Timecop's settings are way to responsive for me. I need to slow up my system

The PID settings in the machine (below) are a to responsive for right now me. What can I do to make the Quad a lot easier to fly (less responsive ), It is super sensitive.

Also, is there a trick to setting a hover altitude besides Altitude Hold with a BARO sensor, just moving the throttle a hair makes the quad rise or fall rather quickly, I wiould like to find something that will allow an easier hover. My NAZE 32 does not have the Barometer however I think I will look into a full Naze it when I get good enough to FPV and take video...

Appreciate the help.

Just a wild guess here....Did you center up everything on your TX? Endpoints? Subtrims? It needs to be done on the throttle/yaw and the pitch/roll. This is usually the cause of what you are describing with the rising or falling with just a hairs adjustment. You need to set your endpoints and subtrims so your throttle as well as your yaw, pitch, and roll values read low 1050, middle 1500, high 1950.

Yep, and then you can adjust the RC rate and RC expo to tame down the stick movements. Also could add some Throttle Expo around the hover throttle position.
I assume you are running BaseFlight on the Naze32 which is a port from MultiWii code so go read how to make adjustments in MW then apply to BF.
