I2C GPS NAV with Ping Pong Sonar

Post by city_kid »

@EOSBandi

I have a working I2C GPS NAV board all working fine with a UBlox GPS.

I have turned off the Lead Filters which greatly increases the GPS accuracy and seems to stop random drift.

I want to add a SRF04 / SRF06 type "Ping Pong" Sonar module for more accurate low-altitude measurement.

Question 1: If I'm using "stock" MultiWii 2.2 firmware, and I enable the I2C GPS NAV Sonar function, will it feed altitude data into the MultiWii?

Question 2: Assuming Question 1 is "yes", will the MultiWii actually use the Sonar altitude data? For altitude holding?

Cheers!

Hello
As I know, sonar value are showned into multiwii GUI if you enable "Debug3" (just clic on it)
But today, it's only for showing that sonar value are crossing into software, but they are not used in loop for altitude correction.

EosBandy working hard on it, and I think the next official version of muliwii will use sonar for flying...

(maybe Inside some multiwii mod version it may work...)
