MWC MultiWii SE FC V2.0 - logic level converter and LDO

The new MWC SE FC has two new features:

- Separate 3.3V and 5V LDO voltage regulator

- On board logic level converter

I know that the serial RX/TX of the older MWC SE FC work normaly with 5V and you have to use a extern logic level converter (LLC) if you want to connect the FC by serial e.g. with the I/O Ports of the Raspberry Pi.

I'm not sure if I have to use now the extern LLC anymore?

Can anybody explain those two features in details?
