Hi. I am totally new to this and was wondering if I could get some help in finding a compatible GPS module for this MWC: MWC MultiWii SE Standard Edition 4-axis Flight Control Board QUADX w/ FTDI Basic Breakout (http://www.goodluckbuy.com/mwc-multiwii ... kout-.html).
Thanks so much for any help offered!
Compatible GPS module?
And compatible bluetooth
And bluetooth devices, please. Thank you!

Re: Compatible GPS module?

Re: Compatible GPS module?
Hi demaja,
as you´re totally new to the topic I would suggest you to start with an ATMEGA2560 based board, even more if you´re interested in addons like GPS.
eg:http://www.goodluckbuy.com/mwc-multiwii-4-axis-x-mode-flight-control-board-quadx.html
It´s not so much more expensive but you have way more options (2nd serial etc) than on the 328p processor. For example you would need an I2C GPS with the board you´ve chosen, this brings an additional MCU/firmwareset into the game.
I use a 328p with I2C-GPS and bluetooth and atm thats it, no more options left. To switch between GUI and OSD for FPV I´ve to switch the cable from the serial BT-connection to the OSD. Sounds just uncomfortable in the first time but´s pain in the *** after 10th time...
Cam-gimbal woud be nice but out of option with Y6 on 328.
Imho, if you become more comfortable with the "MultiWii System" you`ll see that you can start with a basic board but you´ll need MEGA2560 or lots of workarounds for a full optioned copter. As the prices dropped you should go for the real on.
Don´t take it wrong, I like the idea Alex had/has in mind while leading the developement but as you want to start with more than a basic setup the promini/328p is just not what you need.
For the details you have to use the search function and spend some time, as we all did

Re: Compatible GPS module?
Hi! Thanks for the replies. I did start off searching the web and then this discussion forum (maybe I didn't dig deeply enough or just didn't understand what I was looking at?), but I wasn't finding the answer I was looking for. Sometimes asking for help is better than being stuck in limbo. Sorry if I gave the impression that I was being lazy about finding info.
@gompf-2: thank you for the leads! At least now I have a better starting point than I did before asking.
Oh, the bluetooth was for something else. Sorry for asking about it here. Thanks again!

Re: Compatible GPS module?
I apologize Demaja, wasnt trying to give you the standard "look it up" jargon, I was trying to let you know there are options, and many have been covered in topics on this forum already. its gonna be a matter of whats available to you, in your price range, etc and will work with your equipment.
I am also looking for a nice BT unit for mine. just waiting for the right deal, because im cheap!
