New boards @ GLB, 32bit CPU....

Post by dr.tom »

does anyone have any more info, flight movie maybe?

dillema is between two similar priced boards, same sensors, different CPU

Atmega328
http://www.goodluckbuy.com/kcopter-mult ... s5611.html

32Bit
http://www.goodluckbuy.com/kcopter-stm3 ... -chip.html

Which would you prefer more? 32bit seems like a logic upgrade, MWii is ported to new CPU-s...
but does it fly rock solid like 328 does?

planning to put one on hexa + 2 servo gimbal (328 can do it OK, dunno about 32bit one)

Just saw this as well. It comes with either one of three different IMUs or Just the FC no sensors.

$24 for this;

sounds like it is probably running multiwii code already.

Maybe it is time to upgrade or at minimum, consider it..

ok, stm32 it is :)
did you buy the SKU: 83736 one with newer MPU IMU that has some internal acc+gyro sensor fusion if I remember correct
http://www.goodluckbuy.com/kcopter-stm3 ... -chip.html

or SKU: 83734 with well tested ITG+BMA IMU
http://www.goodluckbuy.com/kcopter-stm3 ... s5611.html

all stm32 versions seem to have only 6 PWM outputs, so it can't be used on hexa + 2servo gimbal?

32bit looks interesting, but I will probably wait until the 32bit Atmega stuff starts hitting the market, as that's the one Arduino are going to use. They have the "Arduino Due" in beta testing atm. It's using the Atmega ATSAM3X8E 32bit chip.

Pictures here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/robotgrrl/ ... 898341388/

Based on the ARM® Cortex™-M3 processor, the Atmel® SAM3X8E runs at 84MHz and features 512KB of Flash in 2 x 256KB banks and 100KB of SRAM in 64KB +32KB banks, with an additional 4KB as NFC SRAM. Its highly integrated peripheral set for connectivity and communication includes Ethernet, dual CAN, HS USB MiniHost and device with on-chip PHY, high-speed SD/SDIO/MMC, and multiple USARTs, SPIs, TWIs and one I2S. The SAM3X8E also features a 12-bit ADC/DAC, temperature sensor, 32-bit timers, PWM timer and RTC. The 16-bit external bus interface supports SRAM, PSRAM, NOR and NAND Flash with error code correction. The Atmel QTouch® Library is available for the SAM3X8E for easy implementation of buttons, sliders and wheels. The device operates from 1.62V to 3.6V and is available in 144-pin QFP and BGA packages.

I bought the board with no IMU as I already have a lot of different IMUs lying around.

Been waiting a long time for the Arduino Due - think you'll be waiting a fair while longer too.

can you please help?

the board with sensors is not available at GLB, will be refunded.

So, if I buy this IMU :
http://www.ebay.com/itm/10DOF-IMU-MPU60 ... 0863094874

and this empty board:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kcopter-STM32F1 ... 3a7596d5f8

How to connect pins beside GND, SCL, SDA, and 3.3V ?

because I see it's not like on MWC, more than 4 pins are used on GLB STM32 board, although it's SAME IMU
ImageImage

but labels and order do not correlate
Image Image

Image
FSYNC x INT1
INTA x INT2
DRDY x INT3

And is my standard 5V FTDI USB going to work with this board? (GND, RX & TX pins are only used)

Thanks a lot :)

Got the boards, still waiting for the second separate IMU,
but no problem connecting it any more,
because the connections are NOT like on the GLB pictures for STM32 board.

they are same like for Atmel ones :) only 4 needed (GND,VCC,SDA,SCL) :D

sad that new baro still doesn't work on 32bit port. hope someone with skill is going to implement it :)
will have to buy 8bit board and transfer the IMU to it till then.

here are the pics of connections. you can see the last 3 on IMu are not used.
