FPV All-in-One Flight Controller

Post by copterrichie »

Here is an update on my FPV development. I have decided to build an all-in-one Flight controller and OSD system. It has two Arduinos, an ATMega1280 tasked to handle all of the main Flight control Functions and an ATmega328 Nano to handle the housekeeping tasks such as OSD nd Telemetry.

Here are a could of pictures of the build in process.

This puppy is going on my newest version of the SweptBack Copter with the Original V-Prop system. ;)

The final version wiring did not turn out to bad, still need to clean the excess flux and glue down the wiring. All-in-all, I am very happy. Testing can not begin.

The sensor shown is a Pololu MinIMU-9.

After a very long rest period, I resumed development of my upgraded Sweptback-II copter. It is using a Pololu MinIMU-9 Gyro, Accelerometer (L3G4200D, LSM303DLx_ACC) and I read nothing but negative things about the crapy gyro. Does not look crapy to me. I plugged in the PID settings for the Original Sweptback and see for yourself. I need to do lots more testing and finalizing the build before I can give the stamp of approval to the MinIMU-9.
