Yaw issue with my Paris 4.0?
Hello all. New here. Recently acquired a delrin kit tricopter. I posted a few videos of me flying in which you can notice my yaw issue. Let me try to explain it.
It's a paris 4.0 board with nunchuck and WMP.
Here is a screen shot of my multiwii settings currently. Yaw is worse since making I value 0.
Any suggestions on anything I may have off please let me know. So the yaw issue.
What happens is if I yaw left and let go of my sticks it will try to turn right and go back to where it normally was. I have to fly with my thumb a bit left on the yaw. It's annoying. I changed the pid settings and it just spins in place basically. How can I get it so When I yaw and let go it will stay straight in that direction? It is the only thing holding me back. Here is a few of my videos where you can see the issue yourself.

tougher to notice in this video

But it is rather annoying. Any tips?

I still tried. In place it tries to spin right. Auto calib does not help.
Re: Yaw issue with my Paris 4.0?
try adjusting the yaw servo linkage so that the rear motor tilts more to the right (thus yawing the tri more to the left).
for minor adjustments, i think you can use the yaw channel trim.

Thank you. I will try this method.

Still having issues. What should my yaw settings be?
Re: Yaw issue with my Paris 4.0?
Do this check.
Hold it in your hand and start engines.
Throttle up a bit.
Rotate it by hand.
Does it fight the rotation then gyro comensates in right direction.
If it doesn't you must change direction in config

Code: Select all
#define YAW_DIRECTION 1 // if you want to reverse the yaw correction direction
//#define YAW_DIRECTION -1

Re: Yaw issue with my Paris 4.0?
So if I yaw right it will stop when I let go of the stick. When I yaw left it will always do a full turn to the right before it starts to stop. When I rotate it in the air (don't have a nunchuck just flying acro) the rotor seems to tilt in right direction but doesn't really fight to stay in position. I can rotate all around and it doesn't really fight to stay in place.I don't think I need to change the code. Any other thoughts?
Basically when I am flying I have to hold my rudder left a little bit to fly straight and stop the drift. And I yaw into my turns as well so it's a pain to do that. When I set trim on my radio it doesn't really help. It just doesn't trim far enough and then the yaw starts getting wacky.

Set YAW P to 9.
Twist it fast both right and left.
Then you should really feel that it fights the rotation.
The rear motor should be tilted to right seen from rear.

I just did this and it does fight them more. But it seems at full left and right stick it turns really really slow for my taste. Also if I yaw right and let go of stick it holds heading perfect if I yaw left and let go of stick it rotates right still....
Okay I'll try tilting it right again.

Okay it seems perfect now. Going to lower P to 7.5 so I can get more response in my yaw. Thanks!!!
