Multiwii 2.5 SE problems

Post by artis »

Hi guys!

I just got my Multiwii 2.5 SE. Assembled the quad, but I have a problem.

When connected the flight controller to MultiwiiConf I got absolutely no readings from the 3 sensors (accel, baro and magnetometer).

Accelerometer stuck on X: 0 Y:0 Z:512
Calibration didn't work. Verified my config.h. Also seems to be fine.

I also get a lot of I2C errors. Hundreds every second.

When I plug the battery all rotors beep and move a little bit except for 1 of them so I presume I have a faulty ESC and/or motor as the connections look fine.

I tried to connect the board alone only connected to the radio receiver, but no luck. I still get no readings and a lot of I2C errors.

Should I see readings if I connect the board alone or does it require all ESCs to be connected first?

Could the faulty ESC or motor be the problem or you think I have a faulty flight controller as well?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

P.S.

Disconnect everything from the FC board. Connect only the USB cable and check in MW config to see if the sensors and I2C is working correctly without any errors.
If not then you may have the wrong board type defined in config.h

Connected the board alone - no joy.

As for board type - I googled a lot and found the correct one - doesnt work.

I even went for manual configuration. With magnifying glass I saw the text on the chips there was written the models of the sensors and
I wrote them manually in the config.h - still not working.

As I said the accelerometer is stuck on Z: 512. When I click calibrate it drops to 0 and in 3 or 4 seconds it goes back to 512.

No other readings.

As Waltr mentioned check you have set correct board in Config.h. Crius SE V2.0 is the best match.
If you are not running Multiwii v2.3 download it & ensure that you are also running same version MW Config Or WinGUI. What baud rate have you set (should be 115200) & have you tried it on WinGUI? Also check out the Multiwii WiKi

Using Multiwii 2.3
Tried Crius SE V2.0
Tried WinGUI

No readings from the accelerometer (apart from Z:512), barometer and magnetometer.

The board is probably bad so return it to the seller and have them send a new one.

Thanks for the help guys. I got the new board and it is working fine on the first attempt. Looks like the old one was indeed damaged.
