AAC Calibration When Powering Up

Post by JDD »

Does the AAC recalibrate itself every time you plug in a new battery? If so can I turn it off? Should I turn it off?

Sometimes there isn't a perfectly level spot at launch and I notice the trims are all out of whack. So can I calibrate at home on a known level bench and then take it to the field ready to go?

Also, I've read about the calibration. When it's on a bench do I have to push the control sticks in all directions or is it just setting what is supposed to be level?

Sorry, I'm new...

DJI 450 with Crius Pro V2 and a GPS that doesn't hold for sh*t or hover without at least a few bumps of the sticks.

So do I have to make sure it's perfectly level when I plug in the battery. It seems to do better if this is the case but it's somewhat annoying in the field.

Try to have quad FC perfectly level when calibrating ACC. But you can use ACC Trim function if quad will drift when you turn on ANGLE.

Is it ok if I have angle permanently selected by checking all three boxes of aux 4. I'd prefer that it not do anything acrobatic as I am using it for a camera rig.

That's the throttle down + yaw left + pitch back correct.

When the light comes on pushing the pitch/roll stick adds trim for that direction correct?

Thanks for helping

No problem if you will have ANGLE permanently on. Just first trim your copter in acro mode to almost perfect and then turn on angle and trim ACC.

And for the second question...correct. For ACC trim. Copter must be turned on. UNARMED. Then throttle to max and then pitch/roll stick.

You can plug the battery even with the copter reversed, there is no problem.
what is important is:
- to calibrate acc at least once before (the setting stays in eeprom)
- to not move the copter just after you plug the battery
