Thanks for the info PatrikE, I was going to order from witespy but he's not shipping or taking any orders, I was hoping somebody may know a different source and most important not from China, one week is Ok, a month is not
When I ordered mine from witespy (a week before his stuff was on flitetest and he got really behind) it took a week before he shipped it and then another week to get from Fla to AZ. I actually had an order from hong kong that I placed after my order with him and it got to me first and cost less to ship!
I'm not in any hurry to order from him until he's out of his backlog, nice stuff and US based is a plus for me...but not a big plus when shipping costs more and takes longer than overseas orders do. If he gets things together and gains a better rep on getting stuff out the door I look forward to trying one of his boards since the minim I got from him is really well made.
I just ordered the MinimOSD Apr 1 and got shipped today (Apr 3), if I'm lucky I may get it by Saturday. By the way Jhitesma, do you have any leads to any info on how to install it? I ordered but I'm clueless what kind of setup I'm facing
Figuring it out was a bit tricky. The version numbers referenced on the RTFQ site didn't match the version numbers on the google code site...so I just went ahead and downloaded the latest version of the TeamKV code from their google code site and reflashed it.
I ran into a few issues because my FTDI adapter was setup for 3.3v - I could connect to the minim and it seemed to be working - but none of the changes I made actually saved. Once I rewired my FTDI to work at 5v I was able to successfully change the settings with the config program.
The boards from RTFQ come with the power jumpers pre-soldered so you don't need to connect 12v to the minim.
I wired mine up just be using one of the serial connections on the arduino mega I run MW on to the minim along with power from one of my ESC BEC's. Then it was just a matter of slipping the minim between my camera and VTX and it all worked.
Took 6 days to get to my door CHINA to EUROPE (i noticed HK shipping is really bad now I guess since that lipo/scanning packages rule and usually i buy from China one week to your door , at least to EU .
Yes these are the new boards I have 5 since my 1st try buy and they all ariived very fast 5 might be a bit OTT but i though while they are here ...
Hi, Please help me. I bought an Upgraded MAVLink V2.0 board. Unfortunately, I am not able to make it work. I downloaded on it KV-Team-OSD and managed to change the settings on it with the KV-GUI-2.3. An example of the GUI screen is in the attached file. The FAT SHARK with RX on googles shows any image for the simulator GUI. Yours, Georges
Recommendation on MinimOSD boards - buy one with the analog input pins broken out. The Whitespy board has this. Many of the others don't. I made the mistake of buying one from HobbyKing without the pins broken out and connecting Vbat and RSSI was a major PITA. (I have to carefully solder very fine wires right to the chip).
I prefer to run the video side of the OSD board from the same 12v that powers the camera. Keeping the 5v and 12v isolated reduces video noise in some cases. Just be sure to keep the 5v and 12v grounds isolated also. Check them with an ohm-meter to make sure they aren't connected.
