Octocopter with Flyduino MW32 V2

Post by Zt3Ph3N »

Hi there,

I'm planning to build an Octocopter with FC MW32 V2 from Flyduino. There is one problem for me now. I need to set the mixer to octox8 for example, but I don't know where to connect the Motors for this Setup. The Manual from Flyduino is useless for octos.
What do I have to do, to get this to work?

Thanks for your help.

Greetings
Stephen

Cloners not writing proper manuals, what a shock? :)
You will need PPM receiver (obviously), with feature PPM enabled, when you set octo mixer, first 6 motors are off the usual motor pins, and the last 2 are from the RC5, RC6 pins.

The MW32 is a clone of the Naze32, right? Then I buy this one. But I've read that manual too, and found no Info for Octos. :(

I've got a Graupner MX-16 Control-Set.

Receiverpinnings on the Board (MW32 currently):
The Pins 1 - 4 for the Controls
Pin 5 - Motor 7
Pin 6 - Motor 8
Pin 7 - Aux
Pin 8 - Aux

Do I understand that correctly?

You *need* a PPM receiver for octo. If you don't have feature PPM enabled, none of RC inputs are outputs.

Ok
my receiver Graupner GR-16 can be switched to ppm (Port 8).

So I have to connect the Receiver PPM Output to the RGV PPM Pins on the MW32
Connect the Motors to Pin 5 and 6 that were used for standard Receiver "Aux1" and "Aux2" earlier
Enable feature PPM on the FC

Is that correct?

Yes, sounds about right.
And motor order would be same as regular multiwii (or you can look at the code in mixer for exact order0
