Flashing board without USB

Post by KyleBrown »

Hey,

I broke the micro usb port on my Naze32 Pro. I can still connect to it for telemetry with bluetooth. However, I would like to flash the board with clean flight for the ability to address LEDs with it.

Is it possible to flash the board without usb (bluetooth, ftdi)?

If not is it possible to solder cable to usb connections and splice it to a usb?

Many Thanks
Kyle

It is possible to solder the small five pads with cables on the micros usb connector. Google micros usb pin out, this will give you a reference for each of the pads. Note the ID pad is for USB on the go you do not need to connect it to anything.

Splice these wire to a usb cable, search for a reference to the cables inside the usb and match the appropriate colours to the pads you soldered. Ensure the power and ground are correct.

If you plug the usb in and it powers the flight controller but you can't connect, try switching around data+ and the data- cables.
