Hi lads,
I've very sure my afromini got toasted, the ESC burnt and the afromini led doesn't even got lit now.
So question is, any idea if I can recover it, meaning would it be any part that would have burnt that could be replaced?
I ask as I don't know if the power led is lit by the STM32 or directly by power, if it's the former I'm screwed if it's the latter
there might be a chance as some Vreg may be the culprit.
AfroMini got toasted...
Re: AfroMini got toasted...
Blue led is by power.
Vreg might be toast, you can try connecting a pin with 3.3V to the bottom (facing towards cpu) end of the LED and see if that will power it up, then its vreg that's dead, replace with LP2992/SPX3819/MCP1804/RT9193/etc...

Re: AfroMini got toasted...
Thanks TC! I'll check that.
I'd buy a new one (and I will) but I'm traveling and I installed it on my wing to test it during this time.
So I just want to see ifI can fix it somehow.

Re: AfroMini got toasted...
Back on this on, swaped the vReg and... nothing.
The vReg is actually ok and working, but the board seems to be in short.
I don't see any burned track or shorted pins, so any idea what could be causing it?
Could the ARM in case it was toasted to cause the board to be in short?
I'm just been stubborn an trying to understand what it is, so I know it's probably a wast of time.
So decided to ask again for some tips, before removing the IC to try out.

And it's confirmed the STM32 is the culprit... arghhh...
