I was making one for myself (since I have reprap to print it), but gave up for a while (as material shrinking is a pain in the ass).
So I'm joining the question…. does anybody have STL for that ? :D

bleh ;)
But I have to admit, that it's a quite interesting alternative for those who like chrome.

EDIT: shouldn't we have such an info in the first post maybe? :)

Multiwii 2.2 conf will trash values as you noticed, since their protocol is not backwards compatible
Better use one of the published -pre 2.3 things,

etc
if you insist on Java garbage, or else use Chrome configurator as someone else pointed.

I was just wondering what are the chances of a flyaway.I'm not firmillar with what would put me at risk of a flyaway.Let's say I flip a switch for alt hold or rth.No GPS is attached..Am I putting my equipment risk doing so?
Here's a cover I made out of a soft rubbermaid container from walmart.

If there is no GPS or no Baro, you can't set up an Aux switch to activate them.. it's just not an option.

Hmmm...I'm a little confused.naze has a barometer on it.The part on the board your soupposed to with cover with cotton. So it has a Baro.

Generally flyaway implies you have something FLYING in the first place.
Which seems to be not the case here.

Does useing rth alt hold or position hold open up a chance a of a flyaway? Or is it a 100 percent safe to use?

What's confusing? If you have a baro, you can enable alt hold. If you don't, you can't. Same with GPS, how either of these options could lead to a flyaway, well that depends on whether your quad actually flies in the first place - which it must do and fly well, otherwise there is no point going anywhere near these options. Either way, this sounds like a set up problem to me in which case it belongs in the appropriate section: Getting Started - MultiWii config and setup

EDIT: just saw your new post . using GPS leads to potential for flyaways - it depends on a bunch of things working correctly. Ability to switch it off and take control manually in event that something goes wrong is mandatory. Of course, before you can use any of these features, you must actually have a well tuned and flying quad, GPS pos hold or Baro alt hold isn't some "get out of jail free" card in event you have no idea.

Hmmm... I have the white naze and I'm looking to see where the Baro is on the board.I don't see it in the diagram in the manualNear the end of the manual it states some common issues to address is covering the baro.Does the white naze have a baro on it or did i forget to add this to my partslist.Sorry guys some of these questions agrivate you but all i can do is try and understand things.

Did you buy a $23 "Acro Naze32" or a ~$60 "Naze32"? I assume the normal one... the Baro is on the bottom of the board and is a small metal rectangle (~2x4mm) with two holes in it. You should place some non-electrically-conductive but breathable foam over it.

If you are planning to use the onboard mag for gps, it will never work and randomly fly around in gps mode if you mount it directly on the powerdistribution. Just in case you use harakiri set gps_rtl_flyaway = 15, so the flyaway will stop after flying 15m in the wrong direction on rtl..... After the autoland you can rip off the gps or build a proper setup....

Flyaway, either GPS induced, other cause is not correctly setting up receiver failsafe

Well im guessing i have the more expensive board because it came ina kit.Theres no solder marks on my board so its not the discounted ones on timecops website.

Well since it has a baro i guess i can set alt hold, rth etc onto swicthes on the 9xr transmitter.

Hmmm.....well i have a circus gps v2 if i remember correctly. That should take care of the mag i hope.

I'm sorta new to this, RTH works on baseflight?
I've only been in to quads since mid July, so far I only have 4 quads flying and 1 octo build... no luck with getting GPS working on much of anything though.

Well if it is a kit it must be constructed and tested that every sensor works flawlessly with it(Mag!) otherwise send it back to the shop.

Have tested my new frame that I call CX4M
Image
I`m using Naze32 V5 + FRSKY TFR4 + Afro12A ESC + 1000mAh 3S 35C LiPo + 5x4.5x3 prop on this frame.
I`m new to multiwii (on my other quads I use VRBRain from virtualrobotix.com), but have ben able to configure it to support PPM from the RX, Activated LiPo Voltage readings + calibrated ACC and mag.
The quad is wey stable and all works fine - NAZE32 V5 is a great controller.

I have one "problem", if i connect a buzzer it beeps allmost all the time - the beep goes off some short times during boot
The LiPo is fully charged, and LiPo voltage shows correct in Multiwii conf.
I guess this is a parameter setting, but I need some help on what parameter I must change..

Ya im sure ive read you have to set when you want the buzzer to go off once it reaches.a.certain charge.I would check cli commands and see if its in there.Sorry havent been able to set my board up.It sounds like someone coded it to go off constantly so you know its not set up correctly.

The buzzer is enabled by default. Beware that buzzer can be magnetic and screw your mag readings.. it did for me when I placed the buzzer <5cm from the FC board.
The commands you need:

Code: Select all

feature vbat
set vbatmincellvoltage = 35 (default is 33 ie 3.3v which is too low for me).
set vbatscale = 110

adjust vbatscale up/down until the "status" command returns a correct vbat voltage for you. Then type:

Code: Select all

save

Board reboots. Done.

rev5 that shipped with old firmware, the buzzer logic was reversed.
It's been fixed in r429 (but that one has other issues), so use r461 hex file.

Have uploaded r461 to the controller, calibrated and tested in multiwiiconf. All seems fine - only a short beep when I connect the LiPo that is fully charged. It`s raining outside, so I`ll do a test later.

Hi, I`m using 12V LED strips on the arms on my CX4M quad to get better orientation (connected to LiPo). Is there an adapter or something that can be connected to the NAZE32 so the LED`s can be controlled/used to indicate status like armed/disarmed, low battery..
Connect a small PWM controlled 12V switch to one of the free ESC outputs..??

on rev5 there's a couple extra GPIO pins that can be made to do things like this (with code changes/hacks).
low battery can be picked up off the buzzer pin - just connect a relay or something there and switch leds.

I just finished flashing my acronaze32 rev5 with r461 then tried to get my SSG gimbal working using Servo_Tilt feature and set gimbal_flags = 2. Connected the gimbal as per manual. The gimbal did initialize but after that nothing happens when i move my quad. Did i missed something?

I did notice other settings related to gimbal is missing in cli dump.

Missing parameters:
set gimbal_pitch_gain
set gimbal_roll_gain
set gimbal_pitch_min
set gimbal_pitch_max
set gimbal_pitch_mid
set gimbal_roll_min
set gimbal_roll_max
set gimbal_roll_mid

I am really sorry. If i just look further ... found out i left the camstab setting off.

But still for r461 the gimbal parameters is missing. I'm back to my previous baseflight r429. Now trying to figure out how to set it up.

With r429, all the parameters are there. But gimbal_flags = 2 has no effect. No tiltmix. It is same as gimbal_flags = 1.

After r429 all servo settings are done on the 'servo' tab in multiwiiconf GUI.
The changes were too big to keep command-line equivalents (and they wouldn't be flexible enough, anyway).
Eventually a new 'servo' or similar cli command will be added to configure this, but for now use GUI.

There isn't one, since there aren't any relevant changes.
All hardware is documented in board.h / individual drivers.

Hi,

As I haven't seen any naze32 box for free, I made one.
Please feel free to use it: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:175442

It can be printed on any reprap-like printer.

A friendly reminder: You cannot use this hardware with any DJI frames.
This includes: FlameWheel 330, 450, 550, or any future or past frames released by DJI.

Why can you not use this with DJI frames? I have a HobbyKing F330 knock off frame that I am building...
