Tx trims: are they needed?

Post by slim71 »

Hi there,
I'm in the process of changing Tx for my Arduino nano quadcopter running Multiwii. I'm kinda new, even if I've built the drone myself, because I haven't flown much.
I was considering adding some trims on the Tx itself, as the one you can easily find in pre-built transmitters, along the sticks... But I now know that for the calibration of the accelerometers I don't it them, right? I just use the sticks combination to make the correction needed, and that's it..
If that's the way, I'm wondering: what's the difference in behaviour of the two calibration modes? (via sticks and via buttons) Also, if you know, what they do software-wise?
Thank you very much!
