Hobyking MultiWii 328P Flight Controller Won't Arm

Post by Littlepip »

Hi,

I have the Hobyking Multiwii328 FC, I have it set up with my new quad x but I cant get it to arm at all. I have a devo 7e with deviation 4 firmware and an orange dsm2 rx 6 channel. I am running on the board multiwii v 2.3 which I flashed ok. I am really having a hard time trying to get all of the channels to centre at 1500 with my set up. I am using sub trim as it is the only thing I can find to move the servo positions on my radio the firmware is good but difficult to use. All inputs are working in the propper way, i.e rudder right, it goes on the gui etc. I have the center points at around 1500, or sometimes 1501 it is not exact every time. I can talk to the board with arduino and the Multiwii gui and it all looks fine to me. I have spent a couple of days and am getting no where fast. I will add my config h file if is is helpful I'm not sure which one it is but I will find it if needed.

All I get, is the board makes the normal esc arming sound, and on the FC, the blue led's flash, then I get two red led's and it just beeps constantly whatever I do after that.

Any help will be appreciated I am completely stuck and read out, I've been reading info for 2 days without fixing it. I am ready to chuck the thing in the bin at the moment, after my KK2 it is very hard to get going.
Thanks

Gary

I can't get my FC arm by stick, too. Now I arm my FC with the AUX switch the same time I enter 'angle' mode.

Did you check config.h => arm/disarm options which option is active?

Hi,

Yes I set the config h to arm by yaw stick but it just wont arm at all I just get dam beeps that drive you mad and two red led and flashing blue led the top left one looking from behind the board. I will try the aux switch and get back and let you know if it works.

Thanks Gary

Well I finally got the dam thing to arm and fly, sort of. The quad does fly but is not very good, stock. It has a nasty turn to the right when launching, and is not very stable, If I use level mode it is much better and the nasty right turn goes away, but the quad is not very stable and has a wobble . I thought it was a motor causing the wobble, but I changed the motor to a new one and it is the same. It looks like it is out of balance, but it is not. The frame is a clone 450 flame wheel and cheapy Emax 2826 1200kv motors.

should I leave the PID's stock or try increasing the values and try and tune it. Only ever using a kk2 board this is a bit like rocket science and not very easy, compared to pushing a few buttons and re fly that is the KK2. Also I am not sure what each mode is Level horizon baro mag etc, I don't know what I should use a: for self level easy mode and an acro mode that is still stable. I only have one 2 way switch available on my radio making choice dificult. What should I set up?

Thanks

Gary

fly first in accro to setup PID, then once get a baseline, go for horizon mode.
The not stable behavior seems to be there because of low PID. Wobble would say too high PID but because of the first point I think there is a kinda of resonance / vibration somewhere ( Propeller, motor, frame itself ).
Some of my Quads with KK2 are flying so smooth, and by just changing the FC to MW gets a lots of trouble with throttle bouncing ( in my case was frame and / or propeller, so my baseline to identify if frame is faulty is to use Elektro propellers ).

However after many investigation, and all the vibrations gone, my multis are flying very well in MWC and I won't go back to KK. :)
