Stick Commands Not working

I tried trimming the accelerometer. I disarm the motors, max throttle and then hold the pitch/roll to one side for a second and then back and nothing happens. Then tried calibrating the mag and the acc on the ground and no LEDS change and no settings change. Has me confounded. Thanks in advance.

Make sure that stick endpoints are from 1000 to 2000 and hold them in max/min position for a second when using stick commands.

I have to hold them for 2sec and then works.
