Hi to all
Will I have got My Quod hovering. I have got myself confused on how to send the TX trim setting to the controller ROM, so that I can put all the trims on the TX back to center. and save the settings in the controller.
Please let me know if more info is needed to get this resolved.

Hello,
- MWII (EEPROM) triming works only in ANGLE/HORIZON (v2.1 LEVEL) mode
- you should first trim model by TX trimers in ACRO mode
- switch into ANGLE/HORIZON (v2.1 LEVEL) mode and observe drift
- after that you can trim it on the ground (disarmed) just by moving throttle to max and move pitch/roll stick into direction you have moved trimer and release back to center couple of times (sometimes it takes 20 or more moves to get proper trim).
Hope it helps.

What is ANGLE/HORIZON (v2.1 LEVEL) mode. If it helps I'm using, GUI MultiWii 2.0 application.windows32 on Windows 7 64bit and 2.1 Sketch for Arduino From Hobby King. It was pre loaded in the Controller, and can be downloaded from the File tab
at
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/stor ... duct=27108I have used the trim tabs on my Turnigy 9X to get the Quod to hover.

Hello,
it seems that you should start from the beginning. With:
http://www.multiwii.com/#Operating_the_multicopter (those manuals are old but are mostly valid).
Next step could be

Hello to you
Activation with passthrough switch (I can setup a switch but I don't know where Passthrough is to Activate with the switch.)
Preparation: Plug the power and wait for the init to finish, the ACC has to be calibrated at least once since you cleared the eeporm. (As for the ACC, It can only be activated by checking the BOX's. How do you calibrate the ACC)
1. start your copter and get airborne
2a) in acro mode: get your copter level and make sure it does not drift ( I have got this far. The Quod hovers. NO MODES acctivated )
2b) in level mode: get you copter level using the trims on your tx until it does not drift ( I used 2a to get the Quod to hover ) ( Can I Tack all the Tx trims to neutral )
3. Activate "Passhtrough" via Aux switch (I can setup a switch but I don't know where Passthrough is to Activate with the switch.)
4. Land the copter and disarm it
5. deactivate "Passhtrough" - you will hear a long beep: The values have been stored in eeprom (I can't deactivate passthrough if I can't set up a switch to use it)
6. if you have choosen 2 b): TAKE BACK ALL THE TRIMS BEFORE TAKEOFF ( Can I Tack all the Tx trims to neutral if I used 2a )
7. get airborne again - the copter should now be level without drift
8. repeat if neccesary
I hope you can help. My comments are in parentheses.
It's hard to understand instructions. All people explain the same thing differently. But when it starts to be understood things start to happen. I guess that is part of the enjoyment of the hobby.
Thank you very much for helping.

Hi,
you are referring to INFLIGHT_ACC_CALIBRATION that I'm not familiar with (have never use it).
Normal ACC trimming goes from 2a, to:
http://www.multiwii.com/#Accelerometers_trim and in that case you do not have to remove trims from TX because they are correct for ACRO mode.

Hi crashlander
I have gone throw massive amount of info to get to where I'm at. Please excuse my seemingly newbee approach to my questions.
Here is what I have dun so far.
1. All ESC's are programed and ESC's Throttle end points calibrated.
2. Using the TX trim set All motor RPM very close to the same on the GUI.
3. Calibrated CALIB_ACC. With Quod still and level.
4. Calibrated CALIB_MAG. Moved Quod 360 degrees in all directions.
5. Clicked on WRITE in GUI.
3. Went to the garage with Quod and continued trimming in hover. Quod will hover nicely at this point.
4. Setup switch on TX and GUI, to activate ON or OFF ACC Mode. Tested in hover. seems to work.
What I won't to do know, is transfer the TX trim settings to the Controller board on the Quod, then center all trims on the TX.
PS: I have tried BARO Mode. It also seems to work. I turned on ACC and BARO together.
If you give your e-mail I will send some pic's.
I really appreciate your help.

Hi,
cool so you are almost there.
Basically I don't understand why do you want to center trims in TX so badly?
TX trimming will get comfortable Acro flying and additional (already described stick) ACC trimming on top will enable you drift free level flight (that is also needed for good GPS PH, RTH).
But like I said I can not help you with INFLIGHT ACC CALIBRATION since I'm not familiar with it.
Also I'm not sure that any of EEPROM based (ACC) trimming does have any effect when in Acro mode so you will still need TX trimming.
Best Regards
Andrej
BTW: If you have interesting pictures you can post them in this forum so everybody can enjoy/learn from them.

Posted some pic's.
I have always been a perfectionist. I have had ADD and a little dyslectic all my life. Very hard to focus on things. When I get focused I seem to do better then the average.

I can see your point.
But like I said if you have drift in Acro mode the only cure (AFAIK) are TX trims.

Thank you
I will continue without sending the TX trim settings to the Controller.
I'm going to update the Quod with a 8CH RX. The Turnigy 8CH RX is 18g. by removing the plastic housing it is 9g
