Qav 250 motor problem

Post by DARKHOURS »

I just bought a Qav 250 with 2208/2400kv after i finished it i was flying ok... Then wanted to add gps and lcd so i updated the firmware to v2.3 now i cant even get it a foot off the ground.. I did cal. esc,s etc In the firmware the this is the maximum value for the ESCs at full power, this value can be increased up to 2000 */ so i took it up to the max. and still the same so now i'am not sure where the problem is... Why can i not take max rate up to motors kv..?
Thanks in advance for any help Neil

Which FC?
What did you change in the config.h file?
Cal'ed ESC from RX throttle channel or with the MW code?
What value in the code did you increase to 2000?
Was there an earlier MW code in the FC? If so did you run the "clear_EEPROM" sketch from Arduino before updating the code? If not this can cause issues.
Are you using the MWconfig.exe 2.3 version? If not this can cause issues.

Ok, load and run the clear_EEPROM sketch from Arduino IDE.
Cycle power and re-load MW 2.3

Odd so far.
Are you using the 2.3 Version of the MWconfig.exe? The version numbers must match.

Rocks back and forth may be an indicator that the P & I P/R PIDs are too high. You do have very powerful motors for a 250 quad. Reduce the 'P' on P & R to see if it helps (drop them to 2.0 for a start). The 'I's can be reduced also. That is near the 'P' values I use on my Warp Quad (very light and strong motors).
This test is done in Acro (rate) mode, correct? Holding it is a good way to get a feel for PIDs and to ensure all esc/motors are connected to the correct pins.
I keep a log of the PID values and other settings when I make changes so that I can see the progression and restore the values if I accidentally wipe them out.
