OK, so i got a used hexacopter with a multiwii pro board installed. Want to confirm everything is right with the board before powering up the hex.
Problem is, the multiwii pro board's usb connector is broken off and missing.
So, I ordered an FTDI connector from sparkfun and soldered the 6 pins in place to connect on the multiwii.
I installed the recommended ftdi driver from sparkfun and connected the FTDI to the computer. All is well with that and the FTDI sows up as working properly on COM4. When I connect the FTDI to the Multiwii. The board powers up, lights blink a bit and then stop with the red light on the lower left corner of the board lit, and lights 2(green) and 4(amber) lit steadily.
No matter what I try, I cannot get the arduino software or the multi gui software to communicate with the multiwii through the ftdi.
I have tried different baud rates and a different usb cable, no luck.
TIA
Multiwii Pro and Sparkfun FTDI usb board not communicating
Re: Multiwii Pro and Sparkfun FTDI usb board not communicati
Did you cross RX and TX? RX on the ftdi board has to connect to TX on the controller, and vice versa.
Re: Multiwii Pro and Sparkfun FTDI usb board not communicati
Yes, I have it connected
RX--->TX
TX--->RX
Upon further review the board is actually a multi wii pro 2 board if that makes a difference.
