MultiWii will not arm when Baro is on

Post by burnsie90 »

I have the whitespy Multiwii Pro 2 with Ublox gps. I started playing around with the GUI settings and when I set my mode to use Baro, my quad will not arm. I tried other settings and that seems to be the only time that I can not arm or disarm the quad. With my transmitter, I am only able to us a 2 position switch to go between flight modes. I want to have one of them set for return to home and the other I want to at least try with the barometer. Any ideas or suggestions?

Thank you,
Kevin

Its a safety feature, because of the variation in eight due to the baro sensor not beeing super acurate.
Maybe you can change that in the code but its not advisable... Baro makes your quad jump up amd down 2/3 meters...

I raised that question already in the following post
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=4422
and I am still not confident that the solution to switch off the baro is the very best one...
there is too much trouble and misunderstanding for newcomers.

What tx are you using? I was able to mix my dx6i to use two of the two position switches as a single three position switch (effectively giving me an extra assignable switch position). Maybe the same is possible with yours?

I am using a Hitec Eclipse 7. I am looking into converting one of my pot channels to a 3way switch. That way I can have a few more flight modes. But I am not sure that it will work.

With only one 2 pos switch i would forget the baro mode, use only angle on one pos and rth on the other...

I upgraded to 2.3 and I've spent a few hours understanding why it wouldnt arm. I wish this info was more spread... :)

Im also having trouble with my GPS doesnt finding anything (it did in 2.2). Is this related?

You can use the pot. as a 3 position. You have to get a feel for the "middle" of the switch, but it's very easy. I'm using a Flysky 9x and use all three of my pots. for switches. I'm even using the new "extended aux" sketch that gives you 6 positions. I have it tweaked to basically get 4 switch positions out of the pots. right now.

I have it setup as
1: Function 1
2-3: Function 2
4-5: Function 3
6: Function 4

I use bluetooth and/or radio telemetry so I get instant feedback so I know I'm in the right mode, but I have a pretty good feeling for it without feedback. I wouldn't use this method for something that could result in catastrophic failure, but switching between different modes it works fine.

I have all the parts to make tru 6-position switches for the 9X, I just haven't had time to assemble them yet.
