Let start off by saying I did some searches and couldn't find any help for what I'm seeing.
I'm using a HobbyKing 328 board with FTDI. I downloaded the 2.1 software from their site and when I run the MultiWii Configuration software) for the Mac all I get is a blank screen. The only menu option I get is About.
Suggestions?

Re: MultiWii config on MacOS 10.8.2 no joy
Just tried it in Windows 7 using Parallels and I get a screen but it looks like its not seeing the board because firmware reads V0
Tried downloading the 2.1 firmware onto the board and as best I can tell Arduino IDE downloaded it (no errors). Version still reads V0, only other data point I have is that on startup a blue LED flashes and two red ones remain on. Can't find any docs as to what that means.

I have Mac OS with 10.8.2 and everything works like a charm. But when I've connected my board over BT then mwii gui is very, very slow.

Re: MultiWii config on MacOS 10.8.2 no joy
I'm wondering if I'm just missing a piece of the puzzle.
I downloaded the latest Arduino IDE and as far as I can tell it compiles and downloads code (Version 2.1) into the board.
I have the MultiWii (Version 2.1) that was included in the code I compiled and downloaded into the board.
Still get blank screen on Mac Version.
I noticed there is a newer version 2.1.1 in the repository (I've been using the zip from HobbyKing) probably try that one tonight but I don't have high hopes for its success.
I get a bit further in Parallels because it actually displays the GUI but cannot seem to talk to the board even though I assign the FTDI to its USB devices. It just shows firmware version 0 instead of 2.1, might have to setup the Windows Arduino IDE to see if it communicates to the board.
I'm a recent Mac convert so it could be something silly I'm missing. I did learn how to invoke and use the force close menu because of this so its not a total loss

Try dev version r1342 and use gui from this zip file.

Re: MultiWii config on MacOS 10.8.2 no joy
Got a little further with r1342 on the Mac Mini, I at least get the screen now but it still isn't seeing the board. BTW had to install a FTDI driver to get a COM port to show up (don't have a BT module which were the only other options). Checked Java version and its 1.6.0_37
The board is blinking a blue LED when connected. If that helps any.
Tried same experiment on the iMac and that works with the 2.1 GUI newer Java 1.6.0_41 but still no further with the board.
I'm beginning to think it might be a bad board from HobbyKing. At least the tools are setup for when my NanoWii arrives from Flyduino.
Found the lockup problem on the Mini. Needed new Java and had to unplug the FitBit docking station. Unfortunately the 328 board still does not respond to either Mac.

Interestnig. If your board is from hobbyking then it's faulty. Check this thread: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthre ... yk+aio+pro

Not the same board as mine but I'm beginning to believe its a faulty one.
Mine is the 328 with FTDI and DSM2 model. Got it before I knew better. I'm going to toss it aside for now and do some other stuff until the NanoWii from Flyduino arrives. At least I now have the Arduino and MultiWii software setup though and sorted out a Java version issue and incompatibility with the FitBit charging station.
Thanks for the help. At least I now know its not my Mac.
