So i have been messing with MultiWii for a couple months, and have dialed in my flight controller pretty well. All the modes I have been testing have been successful, except for my GPS position hold. It always seems to dart into a random direction whenever i flip the switch. I have been using the MultiWii 2.1 release and thought maybe something was bugged or not set right. But I just loaded a Dev Build from Jan 20 (which fixed my GPS issues) and still position hold wants to dart off in some random direction.
I am using a MultiWii Mega 2650 Pro 2.0 board with Ublox GPS.
I am about to go to a very large field and test to see where exactly it intends on going.... then I can see if Return to Home works or not
I have the same configuration as you and have had similar problems. I have been waiting for some decent weather to try again. I did get my RTH to kind of work. It headed back to my position but did not stop there. Using multiwiiEZ I can see the progress on the map so I know the GPS is reading correctly. Hopefully I will get out this week for some more tests.
Yeah my RTH does the same. I was testing it today in a large field and it kept stopping just short of home, but it was definitely working and returning. If I needed to use it as a failsafe, I trust it would return my aircraft.

Just would be nice to have position hold
Use latest dev version and set mag_declination for your city.
