CCPM Keep the Flybar

Post by dale.e »

I only ask this as I have half a dozen FB heads and want to use what I have up rather than purchace a new head just to make this work.

The bird is a Trex 450 SE V2 clone from HK.

I am not a fast forward pilot, nor 3d, I can hover quite well :)

What I want, is really only to add self leveling to make this more idiot proof, when I got my quad working with LEVEL on, it was a thing of beauty. I was able to transition to forward flight much better. I have now decided to upgrade from the HK MWC SE to a Crius AIO Pro.

So long story short, I want to take my old MWC SE and use it on my stock CCPM 450 to get autolevel.
I found a thread that said there would be problems, but I decided not to just add to it and start my own.

What is the simplest and cheapest, keeping with all the stuff I already have (if possible) way to put auto level into my CCPM heli?

I blew all my RC budget on the AIO Pro kit :)

one thing I found that was pointed out, would be the lack of HH without a heading hold gyro on the tail.
the MWC SE has a digital compas, why could it not manage HH with that?

Thanx in advance :)

You can always try with fb heads.
Though getting a fbl conversion is not difficult..

Magneto support only works if tilted less 25 degrees - not good enough for a heli.

so a multiwii CCPM setup normally also has an HH gyro for the tail then?
interesting.
I have been looking into converting FB heads to FBL, I know its hasstle but I am sort of a nut when it comes to spare bits on hand.
I found a FBL head from HK for 10$ but in my have 4 of everything way of thinking (mostly fostered by a high crash count) and the 3 week lead time to get them to me, I think I will grab one of my virgin HK450GT kits off the shelf and build it out and see what I get :)
other than the MWC I have a minimum of four of everything so I wont even have to take my working 450 apart to give it a go.

it should be obvious by now why my RC budget flat lined

has anyone written a Multiwii CCPM guide?

that would help me a ton in understanding where I am going with this.

No. We bear with rate mode for the time being.
