Re: Better way to balance props?
Not that I know of, I use kapton tape on the leading edge (this way "wind" doesnt lift it off)
Re: Better way to balance props?
I used to sand the underside of the prop to balance it correctly. That worked very well but was time consuming.
Another method is to use clear spray paint.
Today I use clear cellophane tape. Make sure the prop under surface is clean of grease or dirt. Once on it will stay on.

Re: Better way to balance props?
Ive tried CF props before, I don't like them, they're too fragile and cheap ones need balanced badly. Right now I'm really impressed with the new Graupner C-Props I've been trying out (on my 600 with 10" props, on my 300 I use $1/ea 6x3 HQ's). The C-props are very very thin / light with a wide chord designed for efficiency and smooth flight (NOT aerobatics). Not sure what kind of flight you like...
On the 600 I was originally running polymer composit 9047's and was seeing about 120-130* motor temps after a 10 minute flight, I was a bit worried about going up to 10" but these C-props are so light weight and so efficient that I'm now seeing 108-115* temps after the same 10 minute flight, I see almost zero VRS on descent and I get, 2-3 minutes longer flight (right now @ 1.3Kg AUW I'm seeing 16 minutes flight from a 4S 3300, of I loose 100g going down to a 2700 4S I only loose 1 minute of flight cause of the weight drop.
They're $28 (for you, only 21 for me, I only need 3 lol) a set but IMO a much better value than similar priced CF props...

BTW RMRC Is one of the two LHS's I go to, definitely order from them, really cool guys to hang out with at their shop.

I use these. Don't know if you can get them in the States.

Re: Better way to balance props?
A drop of CA on a prop blade is heavier than you would imagine..
