prop change problem

Post by griff83 »

Hi I have a 450 quad with a flip 1.5 board running 2.3 everything was fine with 7035 3 blade props super stable but not much power on my 2822 1450kv motors so I switched to some 8045sf and much more responsive but I have a problem that the copter is wobbly and twitching on the hover and all I have done is change props no settings have changed at all?

This is my first quad so im sorry if I have made a noob mistake but I just cant believe how much worse these props have mede my copter

That's pretty much exactly why.. you have to adjust your PIDs to work for all components of the copter.. if you make a major change, you have to re-adjust your PIDs.

Is it safe or recommend to start with a low p and very low I and d then increase p first before anything else. ? All I need right now is a stable easy to fly quad to get learning on

So with I left at 0.010 and d at 10 I can only get my craft to be stable with p at 1.9 this seems really low or is this normal ?

I use a P/R 'P' value of 1.9 on one Quad I have. I needed to go this low, from 2.3, when changing from a 3S to a 4S battery.
If that works then it works.
